13 arrested in major police raid
Thirteen persons have been arrested for various offenses after police conducted a major raid in several communities under ‘A’ Division.
Police said on Friday, (February 2, 2018), ranks conducted separate operations in Friendship, Grove, Mocha and Providence on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD) as well as Broad Street, Georgetown.
The ranks were looking for narcotics, stolen articles, arms and ammunition, and wanted persons, the police said.
“Several houses were searched and two 32 -inch flat screen televisions and 65 grams of cannabis were found in an abandoned house at Broad Street,” the police disclosed.
