Mastermind being sought in carjacking ring
Police are hunting for a Lodge Housing Scheme, Georgetown resident, who is suspected to be the mastermind behind several carjackings.
In a statement, the police disclosed that Investigators swooped down on the man’s premises on Wednesday night and conducted a search during which, the ranks found a black Mazda Axela Motorcar with license number PTT 2794, along with twelve certificates of registration for various vehicles.
The registration certificates include some that were seized from the home of an ex-policeman who is currently in custody.
A 52-year-old female who was at the residence at the time was taken into custody. The woman’s name was also found on two of the seized vehicles’ registration, police said.
Investigations are ongoing.
