2 Y-O drowns in Pomeroon River

A two-year-old Amerindian girl of Monka Estate, Upper Pomeroon was on Sunday afternoon discovered motionless in the Pomeroon River.

News Room understands that the girl’s mother, 28-year-old Marcia Conyest, left her playing in their unfenced yard near the river while she was cleaning the house at 12:30hrs.

Around 13:00hrs, the mother made checks for her daughter but she was nowhere to be found.

Conyest then went to the river where she saw her little girl laying face down in the water.

The child’s body is currently at the Suddie Hospital awaiting an autopsy.
