Update: Suspected bandits killed in shootout with police

It was high-drama just after noon today as Police engaged suspected bandits on the Georgetown seawall, leaving three of them dead.
The men are yet to be officially identified but one woman, who is known only as ‘Aunty Janet’ turned up at the scene and claimed that the police killed her brother ‘Dextroy Cordis.’
The screaming woman, who was being consoled by a young man, said she was responsible for taking care of Cordis and denied he was involved in any robbery.

The bloodied bodies of the men were left lying on the road for hours before undertakers from the Lyken Funeral Parlour arrived at approximately 15:00hrs. A senior Police Detective at the scene, when questioned as to what occurred, told the media: “three men gunned down, suspected trunkers.”

It is alleged the suspected bandits exited the car and opened fire on the police, who returned bullets and killed them. Two of the bodies were found next to the IST, while the other man was gunned down a short distance away, during an apparent bid to escape.
