FRENCH OPEN: Vickery suffers first round defeat
Sachia Vickery’s campaign in the 2018 French Open came to a swift end, as she lost in the opening round on Monday at Roland Garros.
The USA-based Guyanese lost in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, to USA’s Madison Keys, the WTA 13th ranked player. Despite the defeat, Vickery gained an automatic main draw for Wimbledon, due to her rankings.
She is currently ranked 76 in the world.
