Suspected stolen TV, DVR found in taxi
An Old Road, Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara resident is in police custody after he was found in possession of a 32 inch Toshiba flat screen television and a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) player.
A Police report noted that the man was intercepted in a taxi during a stop and search operation at the western end of the Demerara Harbour Bridge at about 03:45hrs Friday.
The suspect told the Officers that the articles belonged to an individual in his community but on verifying, the person denied ownership, the police report noted.
It was further noted that the operation was done under the command of Divisional Commander, Senior Superintendent Edmond Cooper.
