Essequibo Coast youth stabbed to death
A 20-year-old resident of Pomona, Essequibo Coast has been arrested for the murder of a 23-year-old labourer of Vilvoorden, Essequibo Coast which occurred about 21:30h yesterday.
According to the police, 23-year-old Kevin Betancourt visited the home of the suspect, identified as Alex Mattias, to enquire about someone. The suspect, who was reportedly intoxicated, asked Betancourt to leave but a fight ensued.
It was during the ordeal that Mattias allegedly whipped out a knife and stabbed Betancourt to his neck and chest.
Betancourt was rushed to the Suddie Hospital in an unconscious state where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
