Soldier charged for rape of school girl
A serving member of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) was on Friday remanded to prison for allegedly raping an 11-year-old school girl.
Reon Joseph, 20 of Wren Avenue, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Issacs- Marcus where the matter was held in camera.
Particulars of the charge alleged that during the month of December 2017, Joseph lured the girl to his Wren Avenue home and raped her.
He was not required to plea to the charge and was remanded to prison until May 31, 2019.
