Berbice River man identified killer before dying
A 40-year-old chainsaw operator died hours after he was found with multiple wounds about his body along the roadway in Sand Hill, Berbice River at about 7:00hrs Wednesday.
The dead man has been identified as Elvis Benedict of Sand Hill.
Police Headquarters said Thursday that Benedict died four hours after arriving at the New Amsterdam Hospital, but in a ‘dying declaration’ he identified the person who inflicted the wounds on him.
The Police reported that the 28-year-old suspect has been arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
