The Newfoundland and Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (Noia) of Canada is planning a visit to Guyana in late October and will sign a partnership agreement to work with Guyanese companies.

The visit by Noia is being facilitated with support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation (TCII).

The visit will take place from October 21-25, 2019.

Noia will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), according to the Chamber’s President Nicholas Boyer.

“There are exciting opportunities in Guyana’s emerging offshore oil & gas industry.

“Exploration by ExxonMobil and partners has revealed billions of barrels of recoverable oil off the coast of Guyana,” Noia said in a notice to its members.

Noia trumped-up Guyana as a frontier area for oil & gas exploration and development and said it “may pose a substantial export opportunity for companies currently active in the Atlantic Canada supply and service sector.”
