Royston ‘Crime’ Evans shot during altercation with Police
An Essequibo Coast resident, Royston ‘Crime’ Evans was on Sunday morning shot to the leg during an encounter with the Police.
According to a statement from police headquarters, Evans of Charity Squatting Area, Essequibo Coast repeatedly attacked police ranks with bottles, a cutlass and a knife before he was shot.
The incident occurred about 00:39h on Sunday, at the Charity Centre Ground where there was an entertainment activity.
Evans is presently admitted at the Suddie Public Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have promised to issue a further update on the incident.
