GOA/IOC Sport Administrators’ course concludes

The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) held a four-day Sports Administrators’ course at the headquarters in Liliendaal. It concluded on Sunday afternoon.

The programme, which attracted 21 participants, featured a solid course outline with many topics, including the Challenges facing sports, Budget and Money Management, Drugs and Doping in Sports, Strength and Conditioning in Sports, Sports and the Law, Mental Health in Sports, Women in Sports, and Sports Nutrition.

The course had numerous high-profile speakers throughout the four days, among them Chief Justice (ag) Roxanne George, Attorney-at-Law Emily Dodson, Charles Corbin, Hector Edwards and Garfield Wiltshire.

Following the course assessment, Willon Cameron of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) and Emmerson McKoy and Deje Dias of the Guyana Squash Association (GSA) emerged as the top performers.
