Body of miner found in shallow grave
The partially decomposed body of a 31-year-old miner of Achiwuib, South Rupununi was on Sunday discovered in a shallow grave at Rice Creek, South Rupununi.
Police in a statement on Friday said Marcellus Reynolds called ‘Ton’ was reportedly murdered by a 17-year-old male on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Marudi Backdam, South Rupununi.
The 17-year-old was arrested and is in police custody.
Police said the body has since been exhumed and arrangements are being made for an autopsy to be done earliest.
