Kako teen girl drowns after falling overboard
A 19-year-old girl from Kako Village in Region Seven drowned on Sunday last after she fell overboard while reportedly suffering a seizure.
The teenager was in a boat with her parents and nephew on the Kako River when the incident occurred at about 09:30h.
Dead is Trevisa Williams. Police Headquarters reported that the teen suffered from epilepsy.
Her father launched a search for the teen and found her motionless body hours later. The community health worker in the village pronounced the teen dead.
She was buried the same day and authorities plan to exhume the body at a later date to determine a cause of death.
