COVID-19 relief: $25,000 for every household: $150M for frontline workers; bonus for Joint Services

President Irfaan Ali on Monday announced a range of relief measures for Guyanese as the country continues to battle COVID-19.

He said every household will benefit from $25,000. For frontline workers, $150 million has been set aside, but the details of how this will be disbursed were not announced.

He also announced that the Joint Services – the Army, Police, Fire and Prison Services – will benefit from a two-week bonus on their salaries for this year.

The President made the announcement during a press conference.
