WI Women in danger of whitewash after fourth straight defeat

West Indies Women are in danger of suffering a whitewash after losing match four of their five-match T20 series against England’s Women by 44 runs on Monday in Derby.

Chasing for the fourth time this series, West Indies Women, set a healthy target of 167, were limited to 122-9 with only Cheadan Nation with 30 getting a score. The victory gave England a 4-0 series lead.

Bowling for England, Katherine Brunt and the consistent Sarah Glenn had two wickets each.

Earlier, England’s Women total of 166-6 was built on wicketkeeper Amy Jones’ 55, skipper Heather Knight made 42, Tammy Beumont 27 and Brunt 25. Bowling for West Indies Women, Aaliyah Alleyne took 2-25.

The final match of the five-game series is on Wednesday.
