Bagotville man busted with suitcase loaded with ganja
Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Wednesday afternoon arrested a 64-year-old Bagotville, West Bank Demerara man after he was found with a suitcase loaded with compressed marijuana.
A statement from CANU noted that Clarence Wrights was observed pulling the suitcase along the Stabroek Market area, Hadfield and Water streets, after he had just exited a speed boat.
According to CANU, the suitcase contained nine parcels of compressed cannabis weighing 4.508 kilograms (almost 10 pounds). Additionally, CANU found two small Ziploc parcels of marijuana in Wrights’ pants pocket weighing 12 grams.
A quantity of cash was also found in his possession.
