Plaisance youth arrested with counterfeit local currency, ganja
A 23-year-old male of Graham Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD) is in police custody after he was reportedly found to be in possession of 2,075 grams of cannabis and several counterfeit local currency.
A police report noted that a search was carried out at the suspect’s house on Tuesday between 21:50hrs – 22:30hrs when ranks discovered 13 transparent plastic parcels, each containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems, along with 17 suspected counterfeit five thousand dollar bills (Guyana currency).
The items were taken to the Sparendaam Police Station where the suspected cannabis was weighed. The suspect was placed into custody pending charges.
