Teen mother attempts suicide, feeds baby poisonous substance
Police are investigating an alleged attempted murder and attempted suicide in Region Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara), which occurred on Monday night.
A brief police report noted that the teenage mother attempted suicide and fed her baby a poisonous substance at around 19:30hrs.
They were both rushed to a medical facility after they were seen vomiting; both survivors are currently receiving medical treatment under supervision.
