Man, 20, granted $200k bail on rape charge
A 20-year-old man of St. Cuthbert’s Mission appeared before Magistrate Melissa Mittelholzer at the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court, East Coast Demerara on Thursday charged with the offence of rape.
Shameer Clenklian was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge but was granted $200,000 bail, according to the Police Force.
In addition to the bail, the young man has to report every other Monday to the Mahaica Police Station; the case is adjourned to December 23, 2021.
According to the police report, the accused was arrested on November 21.
