Movements Family of Mahdia travelled to Region One to face hosts Kamwatta and Team 592 in a series of tapeball matches over the weekend and were quite dominant in their all-around performances.

In match one, they piled up a mammoth 198-5 led by Ricardo Adams 64 (7x6s;3x4s), Omesh Danram 47 (5x6s;3x4s) and Ershaad Ali (3x6s). Adams and Danram added 100 runs in six overs.

Richard Boyce (2-15) and Mickey Sutton (1-25) took the wickets for the opposition.

Team 592 in response folded for 64 runs as Roy Henry offered some resistance with 29 (3x6s; 2x4s).  Daniel Seegobin had 4-12 while Keyon Sinclair took 2-9.

In the second match, the Region Eight unit racked up 189 in ten overs led by  Adams with a blistering 109 where he smashed 14 sixes and three fours, and was backed up by Ali 34 (5x6s).

They then routed the hosts for just 75 runs as D Booker top-scored with 30; Raydon Austin took 4-5 and  Seegobin had another outstanding performance with 4-14.

In the final, they faced Team 592 and the low-scoring contest proved to be exciting. Team 592 made 82-9 in 10 overs led by Henry (25) and Sutton (12) but the batting might of Movements was humbled when they lost Danram without a score, Ali (1) and Ryan Adams (8) cheaply.

Martin Singh (38*) and Adams (31*) shepherd the ship to title victory with three overs to spare.

Seegobin had earlier taken his third four-for with figures of 4-15 while Keyon Sinclair had 2-8.

Trophies were sponsored by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs.
