123 active COVID cases; 1 in ICU

Guyana now has 123 active COVID-19 cases countrywide after six new cases were recorded within the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The new infections were recorded in Region Four (four cases), Region Six (one case) and Region (one case).

And with these cases, the total number of confirmed cases since March 11, 2020 has increased to 63,208. Importantly, though, no additional deaths were recorded and so, the overall death toll remained at 1,226.

There is only one patient receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 12 people are in institutional isolation, 14 people are in institutional quarantine and 104 people are in home isolation.
