20-Y-0 dies from COVID; 24 new cases recorded

A 20-year-old fully vaccinated man from Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) is the country’s latest COVID-19 death.

The Ministry of Health on Sunday reported that the man died on July 01.

His death takes the total number of deaths recorded since March 2020, to 1, 256.

Meanwhile, 24 new cases were recorded after 320 tests were conducted, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 67, 615.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (one case), Region Three (four cases), and Region Four (19 cases).

There are two patients in the COVID-19 intensive care unit, 29 are in institutional isolation and 837 are in home isolation.
To date, 65, 491 people have recovered from the virus.
