19-year-old remanded for alleged armed robbery
Magistrate Alisha George on Friday remanded 19-year-old Mwange Smith known as Brandon Robertson to prison for the offence of armed robbery committed against Himwattie Ramraj.
A brief statement from Police Headquarters noted that the unemployed young man has no fixed place of abode; he was arrested on October 12, 2022, by a police rank of the Beterverwagting Police Station.
He appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate Court where the charge was read to him and he pleaded not guilty. Bail was denied and he was remanded to prison until November 25, 2022.
Police did not provide details about the alleged offence or when it occurred.
