BUDGET 2023: Gov’t removes VAT on new electric cars
The government is proposing the the removal of Value Added Tax (VAT) on new electric vehicles (not hybrid) of any power rating.
This is according to Finance Minsiter Dr. Ashni Singh, who explained that new vehicles refers to cars less than four years old.
Dr. Singh said this while presenting the 2023 National Budget.
