One year jail for gold miner found with unlicensed shotgun
Darby Vieira, a 30-year-old gold miner who was apprehended by Police ranks on April 4, 2023, with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at Imbaimadai, was sentenced to one-year imprisonment for the offence on Tuesday.
Police Headquarters revealed that the accused appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Dylon Bess, where the charge was read to him.
Vieira pleaded guilty and was subsequently sentenced along with a fine of $50,000.
