Enmore man who admitted to stealing poultry jailed for 12 months

Bhoula Persaud, called Daniel, a 33-year old resident of Logwood Enmore, East Coast Demerara (ECD) who has been accused of several recent robberies was on Friday last sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
According to Police Headquarters, Persaud was arrested and charged by Police Officers on April 19 after being accused of five simple larceny offences and one larceny of poultry offence committed on several residents of Enmore and the surrounding villages.
He appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Persaud, who pleaded guilty to two of the simple larceny charges and the larceny of poultry charge, was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment for the three offences.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to three of the simple larceny charges. These matters were adjourned until June 25, 2023.
