Guyana recently finished with four medals at the Special Olympics in Berlin, Germany.

The lone gold came from Stephanie Ramotar, while Ramotar partnered with Rachel Mortley for silver in the women’s doubles, finishing behind Canada.

Daniel Samsundar copped a bronze medal in the Men’s Singles, while Mortley got silver in her women’s singles match.

Wilton Spencer (Head of Delegation) and Lavern Lee-Alleyne (Coach) were the officials.

The Special Olympics competed in Bocce (a bowling game) for the first time, and Guyana participated in Singles, Doubles, and Team segments.

More so, Digicel Guyana, who played a significant role in the team attending the Games, noted, “This group has never played internationally before. Digicel is proud, happy, and excited to have played a part in making this possible for them.”
