Labourer nabbed with ganja at Parika hotel
A 46-year-old labourer of Good Hope, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), was nabbed with 200 grammes (or less than half a pound) of marijuana on Thursday at the Inner Retreat Hotel at Parika, EBE.
Police Headquarters reported that ranks went to the hotel at about 13:15 hrs and saw the labourer with a black haversack in his hand acting in a suspicious manner.
Because of his perceived behaviour, the ranks conducted a search on his person and the haversack. Two black plastic bags were found, containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The suspect was told of the offence, cautioned, arrested and escorted to the Parika Police Station.
The narcotics were counted and amounted to 87 ziploc bags. The suspect remains in custody pending further investigations.
