Incisive seam-bowling from Isai Thorne and Ronaldo Alimohamed, backed up by solid batting by Tevin Imlach and Tagenarine Chanderpaul, has given the Guyana Harpy Eagles full advantage against Windward Volcanoes in their West Indies Four-Day Championship match at Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua.

Thorne, who bowled a pacey morning spell, ended with 4-38 from 11 overs, while Alimohamed got 3-30 from seven overs and 2-12 from 3.5 overs by Gudakesh Motie.

The Volcanoes, who started the day two 12-0, were shot out for 113 in just 31.5 overs in response to Harpy Eagles’ first innings of 308.

Once again, the Harpy Eagles opted not to enforce the follow-on, and while Matthew Nandu went without scoring a run, Imlach and Chanderpaul pressed home the advantage.

Imlach is unbeaten on 88, while Chanderpaul has found a rhythm on 78.

Both players would be eying the triple-figure mark on Friday, with the Eagles soaring ahead by 363 runs.
