FOUR-DAY: Perez solid after Harpy Eagles bundle CCC for 200

Guyana Harpy Eagles are in a solid position to press for victory in a must-win match against Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) in the final round of the West Indies Four-Day Championship at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, Trinidad and Tobago.
Perez scored his maiden First-Class half-century to end the day on 61* as the Harpy Eagles trail CCC’s first innings total of 200 by 86 runs.
Tagenarine Chanderpaul was dismissed for 12, while Kevlon Anderson is alongside Perez on 27*.
Earlier, pacers Nial Smith and Isai Thorne rocked the students with early wickets, but a lower-order resistance led by Demario Richards (43) and Romario Greaves (36), along with twenties from the bowlers, pushed CCC to their eventual total.
Smith ended with 3-42 and Thorne 2-45 while Veerasammy Permaul (3-51) and Gudakesh Motie (2-40) also struck with the ball.
After four consecutive victories, the defending champions are in third, 2.8 points off leaders Windward Volcanoes.
Harpy Eagles made a surprise move to apparently drop all-rounder Ronaldo Alihmohamed for Akshaya Persaud
Alimohamed would have been the third pacer, adding value to the quest for fast-bowling points to pip the title.
