In-line Baggage System among ongoing upgrades at CJIA

To accommodate the growing number of passengers traveling to and from Guyana, the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) is undergoing significant upgrades aimed at enhancing the travel experience and boosting tourism.
One of the key improvements includes the installation of an in-line baggage system.
“This will streamline baggage handling and reduce wait times for travelers,” CJIA said in a statement on Tuesday.

Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, visited the airport to check the progress of the ongoing upgrades. During his visit, he met with officials and received updates on several major projects, including:

Minister Edghill said the government is dedicated to ensuring these projects are completed on schedule and to a high standard. These upgrades are part of a broader initiative to modernize CJIA and transform it into a world-class facility for Guyana.
