CANU officers seize firearm on Norton Street
In an operation conducted on Sunday, officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) intercepted a suspect in the Norton Street area, Georgetown. Acting on reliable intelligence, the officers stopped a male individual carrying a backpack.
Upon searching the backpack, authorities discovered a 9mm submachine gun along with a matching magazine. The suspect was promptly arrested and transported to CANU Headquarters for further processing.
The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
