Motorcyclist, 18, dies in Essequibo Coast accident

An 18-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a tragic accident on the Mainstay access road, Region Two on Tuesday night.
The victim, identified as Uwayne Freeman, was riding motorcycle #CN 8791, which he owned, with a pillion rider, 18-year-old Alexander Gomes, also from Mainstay.
According to police reports, the motorcycle was traveling south on the access road at a high speed when Freeman lost control and collided with a utility pole.
Emergency responders rushed both young men to the Suddie Public Hospital. Gomes was treated for a fractured right foot, while Freeman was pronounced dead by Dr. Mohamed.
The body of Freeman has been taken to the Suddie Public Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a Post-Mortem Examination.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
