16 teams to battle for $1M at Rock Auto Trans Futsal Tournament

Sixteen teams will compete for a G$1 million prize in the second edition of the Rock Auto Trans Futsal Tournament, which kicks off on February 24 at the National Gymnasium.
At the tournament launch, organiser Wayne ‘Harry’ Griffith announced the increased prize money, calling on teams to play hard and maintain discipline. The Guyana Football Federation sanctions the tournament.
The group stage matches will be played at the National Gymnasium on February 24th, 28th, March 8th, and 14th.
The semi-finals and final will be held at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on March 22nd and 29th.

Second to fourth place will receive $500,000, $300,000, and $200,000, respectively, while the Most Valuable player and fans will win a new motorcycle.
The teams competing are: Back Circle A, Gold is Money, Sparta Boss, Stabroek Ballerz A, Back Circle B, North East La Penitence, Albouystown, Bent Street, Z-Tekk Family, Festival City, North Ruimveldt, Road Warriors, Laing Avenue, Team Cruel, Mocha Family, and Victoria Eagles.
Back Circle are the defending champions, having defeated Bent Street 3-1 in last year’s final.
Organisers have emphasised the importance of players adhering to futsal regulations, including wearing proper uniforms.
