Fire at Chinese Restaurant: Three others safely evacuated
The three persons who were trapped in a massive fire in the ABC Chinese Restaurant at Vreed-en-Hoop were evacuated safely.
“There was no casualty. They were safely evacuated,” Regional Commander Khalid Mandal told the News Room.
Another person, a Chinese national, was however, injured in the blaze.
The Guyana Fire Service responded to the fire at approximately 03:07 hrs Tuesday.
Two hours later, the fire was brought under control, the Fire Service said in a statement.
Preliminary reports indicated that the Chinese national was rescued first while the three others were trapped inside.
