Two in custody after Mahaica businessman shot, injured

Two men have been arrested and are assisting with investigations into a shooting incident at Perseverance Village, Mahaicony, that left a 23-year-old businessman injured.
The injured businessman is Ijaaz Arjune; he was shot at about 01:45 hrs Wednesday after an altercation with two suspects in a black motorcar.
A statement from the Officer of the Commissioner of Police noted that Arjune, of Unity, Mahaica, is in a stable condition receiving treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
A .32 pistol and nine matching rounds were recovered at the scene and lodged. The men apprehended are said to be assisting with the ongoing probe.
