Pensioner remanded for rape of 6-year-old girl
Pooran Bridglall, 62, a pensioner from Korthbraadt Village on the East Bank of Berbice was remanded to prison after being charged for raping a 6-year-old girl.
Bridglall made his first appearance at the Reliance Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Michelle Matthias on Wednesday.
It is alleged that on October 5, 2025, Bridglall committed the heinous act against the child in East Bank Berbice.
The charge is laid under section 10 (3) of the Sexual Offenses Act Chapter 8:03.
Bridglall was not required to enter a plea for this indictable charge.
The case is scheduled to be heard again on October 16 for disclosure.
